robinandellie1 I just love the beautiful atmosphere Lauren MacColl’s music creates when it’s played, it’s just amazing. I love it.

Master of Alchemy The title comes from a prophecy by The Brahan Seer, a legendary Scottish soothsayer: ‘The day will come when all the hills of Ross will be strewn with ribbons.’ While this collection is imbued with a more melancholy and restrained tone than new album The Seer, along with simpler accompaniments, and thereby forgoes the cèilidh-like energy which The Seer possesses, Lauren's playing is nevertheless accomplished, assured and mature. The production is also excellent. Favorite track: Lament for Mr Thomas Grant, of Glen Elgin.
