Gyakuten Listening to this album's rich, beautiful melodies and spirited performances feels like seeing a fantastical other-world emerge from the Earth itself. The emotions running through "A Mermaid at Fearn" are so complex and genuine it could convince anyone that mermaids are really out there. Favorite track: A Mermaid at Fearn.

Master of Alchemy Brilliant LP! I saw Lauren talking with Paul Murton on BBC's Grand Tours of Scotland's Lochs, discussing The Brahan Seer, the inspiration for this album. While much music in this genre can sound a little two dimensional, the production and quality of this album is superb, full of depth, really bringing out the energy, personality and soul of the music and the artists. A broad palette of instruments are on show. Genuine authenticity. Truly a joy to listen to. I wish I could hear this played live! Favorite track: Loch Ussie.
