Master of Alchemy A beautiful instrumental composition from Lauren wonderfully complimented by Ewan MacPherson playing acoustic guitar - fiddle and guitar work very well together, and all the better for the full-bodied production. The tweeting birds and running water are lovely additional touches. If you enjoy this, you may also enjoy some of Laura Veirs' music, perhaps the Carbon Glacier and Saltbreakers LPs for example.

'threads’ is a new single inspired by the story of Isabella MacTavish’s wedding dress - the most well-known exhibit in Inverness Museum. Commissioned by 'Spirit:360 - Spirit of the Highlands', which saw artists responding to stories submitted to an online portal as part of Year of Scotland’s Stories 2022.

Made and worn in Jan 1785 at Ruthven, Inverness-shire, the dress is a physical representation of a deep connection between people and the land. The track was written at Ruthven, just a few miles from Lauren’s home.
